A season in Paris: notes from the atelier

Every collection begins in the same place: a quiet room above the atelier, a long table and a few rolls of fabric. This season, we kept a notebook.

In July we chose the colours: camel, chocolate and a bottle green borrowed from an old leather-bound atlas found in the family library.

The first fittings

In September the coats arrived from the workshop. Each was tried on, pinned and sent back twice before we were satisfied with the way it moved.

We would rather make one bag well than ten bags quickly.

Hélène Monceau

Photographed in October

We shot the lookbook in the first cool days of October, in the streets around the parc Monceau where the house began in 1952.
